It’s little over a pound, but that’s primarily due to the sturdy metal casing and rubber feet. In addition, the Alexa voice assistant may be used with this speaker if you like to take your smarts with you wherever you go; but, as Bowman points out, setting up the voice assistant was a bit of a hassle in his testing.

It can play music for 12 hours on a single charge, has a socket for headphones, and a small antenna at the back improves radio reception. If you listen to the radio and your music/podcast library frequently, then the Pal, one of the more costly speakers on this list, is a good investment.
However, the Tivoli is not approved for dust or water resistance, so it is not a great model for taking along on excursions like the other speakers we recommend.
